Characteristics of the Plant and Product
German chamomile exudes a soft, bittersweet woody aroma. The word "chamomile" comes from the Greek word chamomaela or ground apple, which refers to the plant growing to the lower ground, and the fresh flowers have a pleasant apple flavor. German chamomile is known for its pain-relieving, antispasmodic and soothing effects and is used to relieve abdominal, muscle and nerve spasms. Some aromatherapists use German chamomile essential oil to treat acne, eczema, infected wounds, rosacea and other skin problems. It can also be diluted with apricot oil, argan oil, or sweet almond oil on wrinkled skin. Because its color is blue-green, it is not recommended to use in diffuser.
